This really isn’t news, there have been articles for years about the Chinese factories in Prato. It’s not just Dior, although they are the subject of the lawsuit, but it’s been known that the brands outsource much of their work to these factories to increase profits. They do it because it’s much cheaper to do it there.

The only way to stop them is to stop buying from these brands. How is this luxury…this is shameful. I’ll be ashamed to be seen wearing them.

Stop buying at all luxury brands. Buy real leather goods not cheap pieces of plastic with fake gold and no actual leather. I get second hand embarrassment when an influencer or ytber does a haul...like you are getting royally scammed.

I think most of us know that these luxury prices do not represent the true cost and craftsmanship of the bags but we still buy them because of the name brand. What I’ve always feared was something like this being true about a brand I love or like. This is truly sad and disappointing and really makes you wonder about ALL the other brands and who the consumer can truly put their trust in. Absolutely disgusting and shame on them!

Well now I am going to flaunt my thrifted super fake Chanel Boy bag with ruthenium hardware with no shame. Basically manufactured by same underpaid Chinese workers as used by the big houses, so what is the difference....Oh yes, not having to queue for hours to get into a boutique..... and the price!

A conglomerate losing money?! Oh no! After finding out that majority of companies are owned by one group it sort of lost its appeal to me. Seeing letters on designer pieces also turns me off. At least make more elements like the Gucci horsebit piece or the Ferragamo double Gancini piece.

I’m sick of this all and I’m retired from buying luxury bags. This isn’t acceptable. I know that profits were high, but I buy luxury because I always presumed it came with ethical manufacturing. This is shameful. So what am I paying for if not at LEAST ethical manufacturing?! + now the rise in people having their luxury bags stolen. It’s clear now more than ever that luxury brands belong in the 🗑 (altho this behaviour has been going on forever, I know).

All these luxury brands manufacture and outsource their products to China! Literally all of them. Lots of things “made in Germany” are outsourced or fully assembled in China! Mercades Benz is manufactured in China but ppl think they’re getting a European products but they’re just paying for Europeans brands

I was never a fan of LV, but I went in LV store in Maui last week to look for something for a friend. Then I saw the new DE Speedy 20 and ended up buying it for myself as my first LV bag! I actually like the wide strap because the color is neutral. The size of the 20 is perfect for me. I have ordered a short chain strap and a thin long leather strap for when I want to change things up. I can totally understand your thought process. Good for you to not just buy it even though you can. If i have those LV bags already, I would probably wait and not get the new 20 yet. Or if you absolutely want it, i think the 25 can may be replaced?

Do the Japanese patches work similar to Salonpas or better?

Everyone here is so outraged but I am sure you all own iPhones (made in factories where people are literally jumping out of windows) - my self included- let’s be real, we are concerned today but how many will actually stop buying. The majority will just start purchasing another brand.
